Lensbaby Lenses
Lensbaby lenses are creative effect lenses, each one having specific characteristics and properties. Attaching a Lensbaby to my camera allows me a different way of seeing….as the company says, these lenses are “The enemy of perfection”. I enjoy the creative possibilities they provide.
Currently there are three Lensbabys in my camera bag… Velvet 56, Sol 45, and Twist 60.
“The Sun’s Promise”
As the Sun marches northward, it promises to bring longer days and warmer temperatures.
Lensbaby Sol 45
"Chantry Island Dreams"
The “Imperial Tower” lighthouse on Chantry island is the first warning mariners approach as they near Southampton, Ontario. It quietly weathers the cold harsh winters and in some way I’m sure, dreams of warm summer days and admiring tourists.
Lensbaby Sol 45
"The Little Range Light that Could - And Does"
The range light at the Southampton has been guiding and protecting mariners for years as they make their way towards the harbour. Built in the early 1800’s the current building continues its’ watch weathering gale force winds, sleet, ice, snow and fierce waves.
As water levels of the Great Lakes rise, it will experience even more challenging conditions.
Lensbaby Sol 45
Guardian
Light on the Southampton shore guides mariners, keeping them safe. Although it’s not as showy as it’s sister range lights, it’s purpose is every bit as vital.

Colours of Labradorite
The early brilliant colours of fall bring to my mind the rich colours of Labradorite. A mineral found in Canada, it’s a magical stone for those who travel and embrace the Universe. Inuit people claim Labradorite fell from the frozen fire of the Aurora Borealis, transforming to the extraordinary and separating reality from unseen realms.
